Monitoring anti-Muslim hate in addition to developments in the Middle East and wider Islamic World

Cutting edge scholarship at Jihad Watch

Robert Spencer included the following on his blog:

Algeria closes 900 mosques and Muslim prayer halls because jihad terrorists used them for meetings

Here Spencer demonstrates his intellectual shallowness and I think it’s worth examining a little.

Robert Spencer has no knowledge of Algeria or its politics.  If he did, he would know that the Algerian government is a dictatorship that runs a torture state.  Levels of corruption in Algeria are so high that this wealthy country languishes in nearly society-wide poverty while the elite enriches itself.

If these mosques were indeed closed, it stands to reason that they were being used not by ‘Jihad terrorists’ (Spencer forgets to use the word ‘alleged’) but by agitators for reform and democracy.

The article that Spencer links to provides no evidence whatsoever as to the activities of what Spencer terms ‘jihad terrorists’.  As a matter of fact, the article itself does not use this term.  It says

The Algerian government last week closed around 900 mosques and prayer halls throughout the country because it says they were used for meetings by suspected Islamic terrorists, Algerian newspaper El-Khabar reported on Monday.

One would wonder why an American like Robert Spencer would place so much trust in the words of a dictatorship that is in no meaningful sense better than that of the late Col. Gaddafi.

I raised these points in an email I wrote to Mr Spencer – champion of freedom of speech and debate – and enquired on what basis he places such high value on the claims of the Algerian torture state.

I’m not holding my breath for a response since Spencer is a coward who will not answer for the claims he makes on his blog.

Below is the email I sent.  Readers may like to paste it into an email of their own and send it to him using the following address:

director@jihadwatch.org

Perhaps he will answer if enough people ask the right questions?

Dear Mr Spencer

On your blog today you include an article from a news website under the title “Algeria closes 900 mosques and Muslim prayer halls because jihad terrorists used them for meetings”.  You then go on to speculate as to why, if the Algerian government can do such a thing, the American government does not pursue similar policies.

Did it not occur to you that Algeria is a blood-soaked dictatorship that runs a torture state?  Did it not occur to you that the Algerian government could be lying?  What if, for example, people in these mosques and prayer halls were discussing the massive and staggering levels of corruption in the Algerian government that plunge the people into poverty and spiraling unemployment?

If you had any knowledge of the basics of Algerian politics and opposition movements, you would know that corruption and oppression are at the top of the agenda for anti-government movements in Algeria.

On what basis do you so uncritically believe the announcements of a corrupt dictator like Bouteflika?

Does this represent the ‘cutting edge scholarship’ which you claim characterises your blog?

Kind regards

The lies of the Israeli right

The Jerusalem Post is a bastion of the Israeli right.

Today, it includes an article by one Benjamin Weinthal entitled “Top Dutch MP slams Turkey’s ‘belligerence’ against Israel“.

We are regaled with the wonderful story of a ‘Middle East expert’ and ‘top’ politician Wim Kotenoeven who has stood up for Israel against the wicked lies of all Muslims everywhere.  With no hint of embarrassment, Weinthal proclaims that

Middle East expert Kortenoeven accuses Turkey of “sliding into an abyss of Islamic extremism,”

Middle East expert?  As we know already, for the Euro-American Transatlantic Right – of which Israel is a firm part – it takes nothing to be a Middle East expert.  All one needs is to hate Arabs and all other Muslims everywhere, read a poorly researched book or two (if you’re Robert Spencer) or no books at all (if you’re Pamela Geller) and boom!  You’re a Middle East expert, with books coming out of your… ears, and articles lauding your efforts in the gutter post of the Israeli right.

But who is Wim Kortenoeven?  He is a member of Geert Wilders’ ‘Freedom Party’.  That’s right.  Geert Wilders, who wants to ban the Koran (in the name of freedom).  The same Geert Wilders who is a known supporter of Robert Spencer (scholar of nothing and frequent contributor to the US’s Fox News and Canada’s Sun TV among others where he spews his unearned expertise) and Pamela Geller, the prolific liar and writer of the bizarre Atlas Shrugs blog.

But of course, Mr Weinthal fails to mention Geert Wilders even once, despite the fact that Wilders is the founder and head of the Freedom Party.

Wienthal crows

According to a transcript and audio tape of Kortenoeven’s remarks, he stated: “Turkey, a member state of NATO, is also increasingly belligerent towards the Jewish State of Israel. Threats and baseless accusations are issued against Israel ever more frequently. And provocations are rampant. Israeli freighters are harassed by Turkish warships.”

Turkey is increasingly belligerent towards of the Jewish State of Israel?  Kortenoeven and his cheerleader Weinthal may like to elaborate on that.  I wonder, for example:  when was the last time that the Turkish military boarded an Israeli vessel in international waters and slaughtered nine Israeli civilians?  That’s right!  It was the ISRAELI military that boarded a TURKISH vessel in international waters and murdered NINE TURKISH CIVILIANS.  If Turkey limits its response to a little harassment of Israeli freighters, I would suggest that this is indicative of how civilised that bastion of the Islamic world is.

It is presumably Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan’s failure to prostrate himself to the Jewish State in the manner of Kortenoeven that has rendered him ‘belligerent’ towards poor Israel.  Never mind Israel’s point blank refusal to apologise for the massacre or to pay compensation.  Clearly any Muslim who objects to the slaughter of innocent people in the name of God’s Chosen People (or should that be race?) is an Islamist terrorist and threat to the free world.

Of Nicolai Sennels and seeming stupid

Robert Spencer – he of no qualifications in Islamic studies and no academic publications to his name -informed us some time ago that he had included, among others, an extreme right-wing self-proclaimed psychologist named Nicolai Sennels as part of the Jihad Watch team.

Spencer stated, without irony or shame, that this was part of the ‘cutting-edge scholarship’ of his blog.

Sennels is unable, it appears, to write anything true.  This is why, presumably, his services have been retained by Spencer at Jihad Watch.  It appears that all one needs to do to contribute to the blog is

  • Hate Muslims
  • Know nothing about Muslims or Islam
  • Claim to be something that you are not – a scholar, a historian, a psychologist, anything really.

I wrote here about an example of Sennels’ cutting-edge scholarship.  Briefly, there has been a spate of arson attacks in Berlin.  There is no evidence and, indeed, no suggestion by the Berlin authorities, that these attacks have been carried out by Turks or any other sort of largely-brown Muslim.  Sennels, though, suggested that they are are.

I wrote the following email to Sennels, enquiring about his odd attitude to facts.

Dear Mr Sennels

Some time ago, at Jihad Watch, you posted this.  In it, you claim that those guilty for this spate vandalism are Turks (Muslims).

On what basis did you make this claim?  Are you able to provide any proof?  Are you privy to any information in this matter to which theBerlinpolice are not?  If not, why did you claim that Muslims are guilty of these attacks?

You have also posted a video on Jihad Watch of a young man behaving in a rude, abusive and intimidating manner on a train inDenmark.  What indications are there in the video that suggest that the man is a Muslim?  Did you, at the time of posting, have any information that indicated that the man was a Muslim?  If not, why did you make the claim?

I wrote about your post regarding the car vandalism in Berlin here.  If you feel that I have been in any way unfair, please let me know.

True to the cutting-edge scholarship that characterises Jihad Watch, its fearless leader Bob Spencer and his underlings, I received the following from Nicolai Sennels, Man of Letters:

Hi Omar

The words “Turk” and “Muslim” are not in that article. You seem stupid.

Nicolai

My point exactly.  The words ‘Turk’ and ‘Muslim’ appear nowhere in article that he provides as evidence that Turks (which is to say Muslims) are responsible for the attacks.

I would suggest, therefore, that it is not I who seems stupid.

I wrote the following in response to Mr Sennels, but I am yet to hear back.  Like Spencer and Geller before him, there is no effort to answer for his bold claims.

Mr Sennels

Perhaps my email was not clear:

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2011/08/multiculturism-in-berlin-germans-want-private-police-and-weapons-to-protect-themselves-and-property.html

In the post – which you can find via this link – you say that:

Berlin is the third largest Turkish city after Istanbul and Ankara, and a prime example of failed multiculturism. Citizens are starting to discuss vigilantism and whether or not they should establish armed patrols. Christians “have long called for a special auxiliary police made up of volunteers who would have uniforms, batons and handcuffs.”

But the article you provide does not mention Turks or Muslims.  That is true.  But you are obviously trying to make the link, are you not?

Many thanks

Omar M Shtewi

UPDATE:

In response to the above email, I received the following from Nicolai Sennels.  I would suggest that it goes some way to explain why he is a highly appropriate candidate to contribute to Jihad Watch.

It looks like you are that missing link.

Nicolai Sennels: Muslims conquer the Danish passport, prepare battle plans for the Islamisation of parking tickets

Nicolai Sennels, a Jihad Watch contributor from Denmark has been busy over the last week or so.  I have written previously about his lies here, and I am working on a longer post about him.

In the meantime though, here is another example of Sennels’ ramblings which I think provides an excellent example of the general tactic of the Transatlanic Right.

An important element of their blogging and writing is to take small incidents involving Muslims (or in some cases, simply brown people – of which more in a later post) and to attach to them a civilisational importance that drives the reader to believe that these small – and in most cases, irrelevant – issues are going to lead to the collapse of Western civilisation.

This is, I am certain, precisely the kind of gross exaggeration that led Anders Breivik to take up arms against his own people by massacring those he believed were in cahoots with the Muslims to conquer and/or destroy the West.

And so, in that spirit, Nicolai Sennels explains the Islamization of the Danish passport.

His basic problem is that Muslim women are allowed to wear the headscarf – hijab – which covers only the hair and neck.  They are not – quite reasonably – allowed to wear the full face veil – niqab – according to the Danish authorities.

Sennels attempts to provide some logic-based explanation.  He states that the hijab

covers both your hair, your ears and the general contour of your head

Except that that is not true.  The contours of the woman’s head in the image (provided by the Danish authorities showing the headscarf as they would like it to be worn) are no more obscured than they would be by her hair.

From this, Sennels believes that the passport is being ‘Islamized’.  Muslims have conquered Danish passports.  Because a woman can wear a headscarf, the passport has been Islamised.

It may sound ridiculous to you and me, but Anders Breivik has killed over such things.

Robert Spencer: Expert.

Anyone familiar with Robert Spencer will know that there is nothing he will not claim to be an expert on.  This is, I suppose, a symptom of the general decline of the United States.  Opinion in America is frequently presented as fact and polemic as scholarship.

And so, Robert Spencer – non-expert on all things – provides his analysis of the recent collapse of Turkish-Israeli relations.  See examples here and here.

You will recall that the Israeli army slaughtered nine Turkish civilians attempting to deliver aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.  The Israeli government could not accept that killing civilians – even those of their allies – is wrong and therefore refused to apologise for the massacre.  The result has been an unsurprising collapse in relations between the two countries.

However, since Turkey is an Islamic country, Robert Spencer explains the issues between the two states in the most infantile way possible.  He states, for example, that Turkish Prime Minister Ergodan “wants jihad”.

Translation: you must accept that the State of Israel can do as it pleases, murdering your civilians and behaving as if it owns the entire Middle East.  If you refuse to do this, you are jihadist.

Even more bizarre, Ergodan’s denunciations of Israel are in fact, attempts to

Push for jihad against Israel as he works to destroy Kemalist secularism and reestablish Sharia at home.

It is important to remember that Spencer takes himself seriously.  More frightening is that he is a regular guest on Fox News – the most watched news channel in the USA.

You’ll find an interesting piece on the Transatlantic Right here on Aljazeera English’s ‘The Listening Post’.  Take a few moments to watch.

Melanie Phillips. Liar.

British journalist and author Melanie Phillips is a key figure in the Transatlantic Right.  I’m very familiar with her writing (as was the mass-murder of Norway, Anders Breivik – she features in his manifesto) and I plan in future to provide a more extensive examination of her hate-filled work.

Melanie Phillips

After the ignominious exit of her hate-blog from the right-wing Spectator website (she appears to have told one lie too many and made herself a liability), she now has a blog at the British tabloid The Daily Mail, which toys with politics in between extensive coverage of the latest comings and goings of inexplicably famous ‘celebrities’.

In her second post on this new blog, she discusses the upcoming UN vote for Palestinian statehood, in which the Palestinian Authority seeks to have the State of Palestine recognised officially by the United Nations.  She says of the Palestinian bid

The unilateral declaration is demonstrably an aggressive stunt and an act of purposeful hostility against Israel.  One might indeed say that, if the GA votes in favour of this incendiary gesture, this will effectively be the GA’s [General Assembly] declaration of war upon Israel.

That is to say that, when the Palestinians seek recognition by the international community through the United Nations, they are engaged in act of hostility.  Further – and it is helpful here to bear in mind that Melanie Phillips is an absolutely committed Jewish nationalist – if the General Assembly recognises Palestine, they will be declaring war against Israel.

Translation: any policy by any nation anywhere in the world that is contrary to the wishes of the extreme-right of the Jewish Israeli leadership is an act of aggression against Israel.  Any recognition that the Palestinian people have the right to anything whatsoever is act of aggression against Israel.

In the world of Melanie Phillips, and those like her, the Israel-Palestine conflict is a zero-sum game, whereby anything other than the abject suffering of the Palestinians represents a loss to Israel and perhaps – who knows? – every Jew on earth.

It is also necessary to point out that Melanie Phillips very rarely uses the word ‘Palestinian’ unless she absolutely has to.  She prefers the broad term ‘Arab’ since in doing so, she accomplishes two things

  • Reduction of Palestinian status in the mind of her readers in what is now Israel and the West Bank and the discrete suggestion that since they are merely ‘Arabs’ they can be moved to any Arab country – because they are all the same – and therefore downplay any links that the Palestinians have locally
  • Convincing the reader that Israel is, in fact, at war with all of the Arab states of the Middle East – from Morocco to Kuwait – and with all of their 300 million inhabitants.  This promotes the idea that little plucky Israel is David to the horrifying Arab Goliath.  Her broad reference to ‘Arabs’ enables her to suggest that Israel has been at war with such states as Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Mauritania, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Yemen.  It has not.

And so, to accomplish the above, she states that the Palestinian effort to gain UN recognition is an act of violence and that

There are very real fears that the declaration will be used as the pretext to ignite the Arab world into a fresh campaign of violence against Israel. Already, Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah party has urged mass marches in cities ahead of the UN vote. Few can have any confidence in the pro-forma calls for non-violent protests. Far from being a gesture towards peace, this declaration sounds the drumbeat for war. Even if no violence occurs, this unilateral initiative rips up previous treaty undertakings made with Israel by the Palestinian Authority and obviates any possibility of a negotiated settlement of the Middle East impasse.

Ignite the Arab world into a fresh campaign of violence against Israel?  A fresh campaign?  Perhaps Phillips can remind the world when the original campaign of violence by the entire Arab world took place.  I doubt it though.  Because it never happened.

Notice too, that even peaceful protest, in the form of non-violent mass marches, is regarded as an act of violence even if no violence occurs.  Translation: everything the Arabs do is violent.  Even if it is not.

She goes on to lambaste Prime Minister David Cameron by suggesting that his refusal to reject the proposal for Palestinian statehood out of hand before he has even seen it is ‘deeply shocking’.

So it is ‘deeply shocking’ for the Prime Minister not to instantly stand with the government of Israel – which Phillips seems to consistently forget is a foreign country – even when it brings the Middle East region, through its own outrageous behaviour (the Mavi Marmara Massacre, the Gaza Massacre, the recent slaughter of five Egyptian soldiers, the recent violation of Egypt’s sovereign waters), to the brink of war.

Third, Cameron is considering endorsing the creation of a racist state which is committed to the eradication of its neighbour. For Mahmoud Abbas has repeatedly said he will never accept Israel as a Jewish state – the actual casus belli of the Arab war against Israel

Melanie Phillips suggests that the Palestinian State will be racist.  She provides no evidence for this.  Quite how the indigenous people, living under the heel of an occupying power can be racist in their resistance to it, is beyond me.  She might like to explain how it is not racist that she – a British Jew with no links whatsoever to Palestine – is, under Israeli law, entitled to citizenship of Israel and to live there simply because she is a Jew .  The Palestinians however, as the indigenous people of the region, have no such rights.

But it has long been the stance of Phillips and those of her ilk that refusing to accept Jewish supremacy in the region – absolutely and without reservation – is tantamount to anti-Semitism and the desire to eradicate Israel and to kill all Jews everywhere.

Note also the sly reference to the Arab war against Israel.  She knows, and the world knows, that there is not, nor has there ever been, any such thing.  That makes Melanie Phillips a liar.

She states also

Moreover, Abbas has also said repeatedly that not one Israeli will be permitted to live in this state of Palestine (as well as no Jewish soldiersin any NATO troops stationed there). That is why the Israeli ‘settlers’ living beyond the 1948 cease-fire lines are deemed to be the obstacle to such a state – because it will be ethnically cleansed of every single Jew.

When Israel occupied the Palestinian territories in 1967, it began a transfer of Jews from Israel proper into these territories at the expense of the Palestinians.  This is called colonisation and it is illegal under international law for an occupying power to transfer members of its own population to territories that it occupies.  But this is precisely what Israel has done.

Imagine if the British and American governments began moving Iraqi and Afghan civilians from their land and replacing them with British and American civilians – effectively creating an empire.  There would, rightly, be uproar.  However, when the State of Israel transfers hundreds of thousands of its Jewish citizens to the occupied Palestinian territories, the Jewish state encounters curiously little in the way of international objection that goes beyond banal and perfunctory finger-wagging.

Moreover, when the Palestinian leadership suggests that these settlers – and settlers is precisely what they are, Phillips’ speech-marks notwithstanding – be returned to Israel, they are accused of ethnic cleansing.

Translation: unless you allow a Jew to live anywhere he or she likes at the expensive of anyone he or she targets, you are guilty of anti-Semitism, ethnic cleansing, genocide and, presumably, can be counted with Hitler in your hatred of the Jewish people.

She completes this lie-filled tirade with the following paragraph:

The Prime Minister should be asked in the House of Commons just why the British government is so gung-ho for a racist Palestinian state ethnically cleansed of Jews, led by a Holocaust-denier and committed to the destruction of the Jews’ national homeland – and why it is even considering endorsing the repudiation of international law to bring it about.

Here, Melanie Phillips has accused the Prime Minister of supporting the ‘ethnic cleansing of Jews’ without batting an eye.

That is to say that if David Cameron fails to do precisely and exactly what the government of Israel wants, he is an anti-Semite.

I give you Melanie Phillips.  Liar.

The Egyptian People Stand Up

Power to these people...

You know good things are happening in the Arab world when Pamela Geller and the goons at Jihad Watch (Marisol Seibold this time – see an example of her work here) collapse into psychotic episodes of mindless ramblings about the coming Islamo-Fascist apocalypse.

Al Jazeera reports that Egyptian citizens have torn down part of the recently-erected wall that surrounds the Israeli embassy in Cairo, breaking in to the building and throwing documents out of the windows.

Israel’s embassy in Cairo has been stormed by protesters who tore down one of the outer embassy walls and threw thousands of documents from the embassy’s windows.

The angry Egyptians also replaced the neighbouring country’s flag with their own after breaking in on Friday night.

In response, the Egyptian prime minister summoned the cabinet crisis team to discuss the situation, and the interior ministry declared a state of alert late on Friday night.

The group that swarmed the embassy had left a mass rally at nearbyTahrir Square, where organised protesters called for reforms by the military, which now governsEgypt.

“Thousands of documents were being thrown out of the windows, but it’s unclear which floor they were coming from,” our correspondent Sherine Tadros said.

“Indications are that it’s pretty much a chaotic situation. Protesters set on fire two police vehicles.”

What is happening here, dear reader, is that for decades under the despotic and humiliating rule of the latter-day Pharaoh Mubarak, the Egyptian people now have a chance to express their anger at the disgraceful infringement on the sovereignty of their state that is popularly known as the ‘peace’ treaty with Israel.  Additionally, they now have the opportunity to express their anger at Israel’s continuing degradation of the Palestinian people.  I applaud the Arabs of Egypt.  They demand dignity and indeed they shall have it.

Some, though, struggle with the idea of Arab (or wider Muslim) empowerment.  They try to misrepresent it as some sort of savagery in blithe disregard of the fact that the primary savages in the Middle East are those who march under the flag of Israel and commit war crimes in Gaza and aboard the Mavi Marmara.

Geller blogs about the embassy incident under the heading

EGYPT: BLOODTHIRSTY MUSLIMS TEAR DOWN WALL PROTECTING ISRAEL EMBASSY IN CAIRO

Geller is correct about very little, but it is true that Egypt is a majority-Muslim country.  The relevance of this is not immediately clear to me, though.  However, since Geller has made a career of attacking all Muslims everywhere whether or not their faith is relevant, this bizarre headline comes as no surprise to me.

In addition, it is her style, so to speak, to cast any attack on Israel or its interests as a racist attack against all Jews everywhere.  And so, we have this from the armchair Likudnik safely ensconced in her New York condo:

The free world stands at the precipice of catastrophic consquence [sic, sic and sic again!].

Here again the reality of Obama’s pro-Muslim Brotherhood foreign policy bears rancid, poisonous fruit.  On Tuesday, the Obama supported Islamic Spring [what?] necessitated the building of a wall around the Israeli embassy in Cairo as the cries for Jewish blood [what?] rose among the newly empowered Islamic supremacist annihilationists [what, what and what?]. The Muslim Brotherhood coup [what?] sanctioned and supported by the Obama administration has led to direct rocket attacks on Israel from Egypt (for the first time in the now fragile 30 year peace.)

The wall had been painted withEgypt’s national colors: black, white and red [good for them].

Pamela Geller is the only person who calls the Arab Spring the Islamic Spring.  As far as she is concerned, there is no such thing as an Arab.  They have no political mind.  No concept of their own suffering.  They are simply religious zealots.

Also, see her reference to cries for Jewish blood.  I don’t think so.  If they were crying for Jewish blood, they could extract it quite easily from the Israeli tourists who are to be found in the resorts of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula.  Their safety is testament to the civility of the Egyptian people – they do not blame the average Jew for the Israeli state’s wild behaviour.  Bad luck, Pam.

I surely don’t need to belabour the obvious in regard to the through-the-looking-glass reference to newly empowered Islamic supremacist annihilationists.

I DO take issue, however, with the outlandish notion that the Egyptian Revolution that ousted a blood-soaked despot was somehow a Muslim Brotherhood coup.  The Muslim Brotherhood is not the government of Egypt.  It is a political party and it is not even in government.  The Egyptian army rules the country in a transition period – so they say – that will lead to elections.

The fact that Pamela Geller knows nothing about anything is obvious to anyone.  The danger, of course, is that many Americans take her seriously.  She is invited on to news programmes where she peddles her incredible fictions to the semi-conscious American masses.  She publishes books.  People buy them.

Over at Jihad Watch, courtesy of the liar Marisol Seibold, we have this:

These attacks are a rehearsal and a testing of the waters for an attempt at a full-blown re-enactment of the seizure of the U.S. embassy in Tehran. That is the eventuality the Israelis there face if Egyptian authorities continue let the protesters do as they please. Alternatively, the embassy may close, at which point it is equally likely to be overrun.

I’m not even going to bother.

Who needs books and actual information when you have the right-ring Transatlantic bloggers stirring the pot like crazed witches?

The EDL inflicts itself on London

The EDL is an 'anti-extremist' organisation, as you can see here.

Imagine if a group of demonstrators, protesting Israeli policy in the West Bank, the massacres in Gaza and aboard the Mavi Marmara, converged on the Jewish community of Golders Green to vent their anger.  Imagine if the protesters wore pig masks.  Would you believe that they are not anti-Semitic?

That would be a disgrace.  The Jews of Golders Green do not make policy in Israel.  The only legitimate place to protest the actions of the Israeli government, is outside the Israeli embassy.

This is not a bigot. Any resemblance to a bigot is purely coincidental

If one wanted to protest against Islamic extremism or Islamist terrorism, the appropriate place to do so would be, I believe, outside the embassies of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan or Iran considering that it is from these places that funding and material support for acts of terror come.

A collective effort to harass a Muslim community in this country as they attempt to go about their business is sheer victimisation.

And this is the tactic of the English Defence League.

Far from actually protesting against Islamic extremism, they simply protest against Muslims wherever there are large numbers of them.  This is why the EDL selects such places as Bradford, Luton and today, Tower Hamlets, for their protests.

This is why, despite the thin claims of the EDL to be some sort of human rights organisation, their demonstrations always descend into animalistic displays of racism and violence.  The EDL is what it is and no number of essays on their website will change that.

Here is an anti-extremist.

Take this one, for example, where we are asked to equate the EDL’s neo-Brown-Shirt rallies with – wait for it – the Notting Hill Carnival:

Nowadays, the anti-extremism aims of our organisation are clear, and there is no reason to think that an EDL demonstration would contain any dangerous elements or that our presence would provoke more than the usual shrill, misinformed condemnation that we are used to from members of the far-Left.

No reason to think that EDL demonstrations could be dangerous!  None whatsoever except that, according to the Guardian (no doubt spewing far-Left commie lies),

There were frequent angry confrontations. At one stage EDL members chanted “You’re scum and you know you are” to foreign tourists, while an Asian man singled out for abuse shouted back: “I’m as English as you are.” [my emphasis]

The Guardian also helpfully reminds us that

The EDL decision to go ahead with a demonstration was also controversial following the recent massacre of young Norwegian political activists by anti-Muslim extremist Anders Behring Breivik. Breivik admitted killing 77 people in July when he detonated a bomb in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, before embarking on a shooting spree at a Social Democratic youth camp on the nearby island of Utøya.

Breivik had previously lauded EDL campaigns against the “Islamisation of Britain” and claimed to have 600 EDL supporters as Facebook friends [my emphasis]

The BBC – another purveyor, no doubt, of Islamo-Communist filth – reports that

Scuffles broke out and missiles were thrown by activists as 3,000 officers tried to maintain control… There were 16 arrests during the demonstration for offences including assault on a police officer, common assault, drunk and disorderly and affray… EDL founder Stephen Lennon, 28, breached his bail conditions by attending the protests in Aldgate, but was not one of those arrested [my emphasis]

But of course the violent hatred that characterises the EDL and was so admired by Anders Breivik is no doubt a lie fabricated by the Leftist-Islamic conspiracy.

Another anti-extremist

The anti-Muslim hate site Gates of Vienna, where Anders Breivik had left comments in years past, provided live blogging of the EDL march.

But don’t worry, there is nothing racist or hateful about the EDL – except, of course, for the racism and the hate.

Paul Ray and Anders Breivik

Paul Ray. Crusader. Knight.

Who is Paul Ray?  And what is his relationship with the butcher of Otoya Island?

According to the Guardian,

the names of individuals and several far-right groups emerged from questioning of British anti-Muslim blogger Paul Ray as well as further interviews with Breivik

Ray is an anti-Muslim blogger and self-styled Knight of the Temple of Solomon.

It has been suggested that Ray is the ‘mentor’ who is mentioned in Breivik’s lengthy Manifesto.  The Guardian goes on

Ray was interviewed last week after claims he may have been the “mentor” mentioned by Breivik in his “manifesto”, posted online shortly before he carried out the killings on 22 July.

Ray, who wrote his blog under the name Lionheart, has said it appeared Breivik drew inspiration from some of his ideas and writings, but he has repeatedly denied any link, saying he never met Breivik and was horrified by the killings. He said he travelled to Norway to “clear his name”.

According to Paul Ray, he has nothing to do with the ideological grooming of the mass murderer.  In fact, he places the blame squarely on the shoulders of the Norwegian blogger Peder Are Nøstvold Jensen who, until he was actually mistaken for Breivik in the immediate aftermath of the Oslo and Utoya slaughter, was known only by his pseudonym Fjordman.

Peder Are Nøstvold Jensen

Mr Jensen was a prolific and eloquent anti-Muslim blogger whose writing featured at – would you believe it! – Robert Spencer’s Jihad Watch blog (ever the home of thoughtful and sober analysis of issues relating to Islam and Muslims).  His self-published book ‘Defeating Eurabia’ is available to read at the tastefully named anti-Muslim blog (it never ends) ‘Vlad Tepes‘.

Crusader and warrior monk Paul Ray, in an unedifying display of cowardice, has blamed Breivik’s attack against his own country on Jensen – who is now in hiding and, mercifully, has vowed never to blog again (unlike Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, who are immune to the sobering effects of mass murder).

Indeed, he has described Jensen – quite bizarrely – as a leftist (the word leftist is used by the Transatlantic Right in much the same way that Paki and Nigger are used by other racists).  He writes, in a post on his blog entitled ‘Fraudman who was Fjordman’ that Jensen is

The Norwegian blogger mentioned 111 times in Anders Breivik’s blood soaked manifesto that is dripping in the blood [we have a wordsmith on our hands] of 69 innocent Norwegian kids who were murdered on a summer camp along with 8 adults from the bombed Government building.

Not only is this man mentioned 111 times inside the pages of the ‘cursed manifesto’ but it is also named after one of his essays – European Deceleration of Independence

He hid from the world behind his anonymous alias [what?] for a number of years and encouraged through his online written direction, the likes of his countryman Anders Breivik to commit his murderous atrocity against the people of Norway.

He goes on

…as soon as he was exposed to the light of day, a little nerdy leftie come out of the shadows as the mighty Fraudman, the so-called dark prophet of Norway and the man ‘ideologically’ behind Breivik [emphasis mine]

It was Jensen, then, who espoused the views that would prompt Breivik to carry out his massacre.  It was Jensen who convinced Breivik that his country – along with the West as a whole – was being systematically destroyed by an evil alliance of leftists (the summer camp on Utoya was a Labour Party event) and Muslims.  It must follow, then, that Ray does not, and has never, espoused ideas that could have in any way contributed to Breivik’s ideological development (or degradation) and its bloody conclusion on Utoya Island.

It was Jensen who was ‘exposed’.  Ray remains clean as a whistle.

Paul Ray – Lionheart

On 1 May, 2007, Paul Ray – Templar - posted an article entitled ‘Jihad (Holy War) against Our Children & Labour’s complicity’.

Labour’s complicity?  He surely doesn’t mean that Britain’s own Labour Party is in cahoots with the Muslims in an Islamic Holy War against the babies of the United Kingdom?  Surely not, because that’s the kind of thing that Anders Breivik would kill to stop.  Anders Breivik might, for instance, execute the youth wing of a political party that committed such treason.

Ray begins

Our children are the future of ‘Our’ Nation and ‘We’ are the descendants of Our Forefathers.

The United Kingdom is Our Homeland [sic], a place of safety and a sanctuary for us and Our [sic] children to grow into civilized [sic] people in the civilized [sic] world.

Great Britain was once called Great because it was a Christian Nation [sic]*, where society was underpinned by the ethics of the Judeo/Christian [sic] world. The every day British man on the street can no longer call his Nation [sic] Great [sic] because it is not, we now have the Islamic Kingdom building itself upon Our [sic] land and we the people are forced to accept this abomination under the guise of political correctness.

The people in power who are controlling Our Nation [sic] have destroyed Great Britain and are continuing that destruction of Our [sic] homeland at an alarming rate. Helping Islam into [sic] the uncontrollable force which it is now, is by far the worst act of betrayal towards the British people by the greedy power hungry traitors at the top of the British food chain. [emphasis mine]

The claim that Anders Breivik got none of his ideas from Ray – who wrote the above four years before the massacre – is laughable and offensive.  But Ray isn’t finished.  The Crusader states even more clearly that

These treacherous traitors should be stamping out Moslem interference with British life and culture but instead are aiding the Islamic Kingdom’s destruction of Our [sic] society and future inheritance of Our children

Treacherous traitors?  It would be my pleasure to cast aside the semi-literate ramblings of this buffoon as foolishness beneath notice.  However, bloggers like Ray (and Spencer, and Geller, and Ye’or, and ‘Vlad Tepes’ and ‘Gates of Vienna’ and the many others) are important.  Buffoons or not, they have influence.

Ray claims that Breivik’s actions were not motivated by him.  Personally, I cannot slide a cigarette paper between their viewpoints.  His bizarre view of the Muslim Kingdom becomes clearer when he states that

Our schools are the environment across Our [sic] land, for Our [sic] children to grow into British citizens, training and educating the next generation of British people and leaders to run Our [sic] country. This sanctity of British life should be protected at all costs, but this Labour government does not think so, so is more than willing to hand Our [sic] education system over to Islam and indoctrinate Our [sic] children to Islams [sic] world view.

Muslims – with their Labour puppets – have taken over the education system.  Quite how they did it, I do not know.  When they did it, I do not know.  But they did it.  Muslims have taken over the education system.  These bizarre assertions are on full display at Ray’s blog and yet he dares to claim that he had nothing to do with Breivik’s grooming.

And here is the call to arms:

How much further into the Abyss [sic] of Islam is Our [sic] country going to allow Our [sic] treasanous leaders to take us before the common man sees sense and defends his homeland for the sake of his children and the future generations that are to come.

What would you do to defend your children from enslavement?  Would you kill?  Would you kill the accomplices of those who wish to enslave, or otherwise destroy, your children?  Anders Breivik did.  And Ray scratches his head in bemusement at the accusation that he had anything at all to do with it.  Read the rest if you can stomach it.  He ends his piece with an appeal to vote for the BNP.

*The ‘Great’ in Great Britain refers to the main island of the Kingdom, as opposed to the former British claim on what is today Britanny in the north of France.  It was not the equivalent of calling the country ‘Awesome Britain’ or ‘Super Britain’ as Ray seems think.  While his grip on the basic rudiments of the English language is not firm, he should remember that ‘great’ may also mean ‘big’.

Robert Spencer. Liar.

Spencer poses with the Israeli flag. He loves Israel because they make war against Muslim nations which, for Spencer, is always legitimate.

One of Robert Spencer’s defining characteristics is that he thinks he is an expert on everything.  There is no subject on which is will not pose as an expert – including, even, the Arabic language, which he does not speak.

Not only does he pose as an expert in Islamic Studies – a field in which he has no training – but also, it seems, the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

Spencer has this on his blog today:

As Palestinian Authority prepares for UN statehood bid, Abbas warns: “Don’t order us to recognize a Jewish state.  We won’t accept it.”

The crux of this topic is that Palestinian Authority Leader Mahmoud Abbas has stated, yet again, that he will not recognise Israel as a Jewish State.  That is to say, he will not cast aside the claims of the Palestinian people and acceptIsrael as the homeland of the Jewish people over the Palestinians.  This makes perfect sense to most people.  To ask that the Palestinians acceptIsrael as a Jewish state is to ask that they become Zionists and accept their own dispossession.

The Palestinians have, though, for some time now, officially recognised the State of Israel.  In the same way thatBritain recognises France and France recognisesPortugal, the Palestinian authority has recognisedIsrael.  It has been this way for some time, but Spencer, who knows not whereof he speaks (ever) has the two confused.  That is why, in his commentary for he article he provides, he has this to say:

Recognition of the State of Israel has always been one of the stated conditions of theUnited Statesfor any accord withIsrael.

Yes it has.  And the Palestinians recognise Israel.  But Spencer is confused.  He is confusing official recognition of the State of Israel (which is what the Palestinians have done) with recognition of Israel as a Jewish state - which is a new demand introduced by the Israelis in order to further delay peace.   Spencer has these two issues mixed up.  He goes on, groping in the dark in total ignorance:

Israel has been pressed again and again to make concessions, and has made them, in exchange for empty promises and the hope of this recognition.

Robert Spencer claims to be a scholar.  Some very important people have fallen for this lie.  Robert Spencer, the charlatan, has even convinced the FBI and theUSarmy that he is a scholar and they have invited him to give lectures to their personnel.  This is serious.
